  • Make sure your mobile should possess 70 to 80% battery

Step 1: Once you have downloaded all the necessary files on your PC, put them in a folder on the desktop. Then, extract all the zip files.

Step 2: Copy all ‘.img’ files into ‘Fastboot Files’ folder. Then, navigate to the ‘Fastboot files’ folder and open the command prompt there. To do so:

  • Press and hold “Shift Key” and press “Mouse Right-Click”, sub-menu will opens-up and from there, choose the option “Open command window here“.

Step 3: Then, type the following command in the command prompt to make sure that your HTC One A9 is successfully detected.

  • adb devices

Once you type the above command, you’ll get a pop-up on your smartphone saying “The Computer’s RSA Key Fingerprint is?” and you need accept it (Give “OK”).

Step 4: Further, you need to reboot your HTC One A9 into download mode and for that you need to type the following command.

  • adb reboot download

Step 5: Once you have your device into download mode, flash the boot file using the following command:

  • fastboot flash boot <bootimage name>

For example: fastboot flash boot a9-att.img

  • fastboot flash recovery twrp_recovery_a9.img

Step 9: Once the recovery flashing is done, reboot your device into recovery mode.

  • fastboot reboot recovery

Step 10: You will get the ‘TWRP Recovery’ screen, from there tap on ‘Mount’ option and make sure that ‘/data’ is mounted. If it’s not, then mount it using the following command:

  • mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p62 /data

Step 11: Push the ‘su.img’ to /data/su.img which you can find by extracting ‘’.

  • adb push su.img /data/su.img

Step 12: Finally, you can reboot your HTC One A9 by tapping on ‘REBOOT’ button from ‘TWRP Recovery’.

Step 13: Once your device is reboot, install the ‘SuperSu.apk’. That’s it! Your HTC One A9 is successfully rooted.
