Step 1) Download the Custom Recovery on your PC from the above link.

Step 2) Turn off your device.

Step 3) Start your device in to “fastboot” mode. To do so, press and hold “Volume down key + Power button” together for a few seconds.

Note: Make sure you have installed all the necessary drivers on your PC, otherwise your device will not be detected.

Step 4) Connect your device with your PC in the “fastboot” mode itself.

Step 5) Now, run the downloaded “Custom_Recovery.exe” to install Custom Recovery on HTC Desire 816.

        I found the solution and it is the error of recovery.exe file .

        • Now the developer has avail the “Recovery.img” file, so that you can flash it directly!. Hope this helps.

    Hello I am not new to rooting phones but I am having an issue. Once I unlock the phone and run recovery whether it’s exe or img file and then select recovery I do not see the option to install from zip in the fastboot or recovery options it just boots into the gui Android base. Please Help I am running kitkat 4.4.2
