It’s not that, you will never brick the phone like that. Many of them tried and get success. I will solve your problem.

            1. Switch off the phone completely
            2. Press and hold “Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button” for few seconds.
            3. Now you will be into Stock Recovery mode seeing some “4 – 5 options”. You can use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
            4. Now, navigate to “factory data reset” and click ok.
            5. Now, select Wipe “Cache Partition” and click “OK”
            6. Reboot you device.

          • RJ

    WHAT SHOULD I DO??

use samsung kies first and update to gingerbread then you will see your baseband version changed. this won’t work in eclair or froyo.

  • Robert

I have done everything and it fails and now i can boot my device. It show me an image with smartphone and PC and in middle exclamation mark. Please tell me what i need to do :(

    • Marc Baladjay Tomagos

it might be bricked or stressed downloading mode. check your baseband version

  • JN

umm my baseband version of my phone is XXJVQ what will i use

    • Marc Baladjay Tomagos

use XXJVU, XXJVT, XXJVS, XXJVR or XXJVZ

      remember
XXJF1 is related to XXJF2, XXJF3 and so on but it is not related to XXJG1 and others. just check the last 3 letters and digits to see the relation.

  • Manoj Varughese

I guess the best method is use Samsung Kies to upgrade to gingerbread and the rest would reduce the efforts for the above process.
